Since emerging onto the Toronto and international Roots scene with his debut 1999 album Back To The Dirt, Brian Gladstone has on countless occasions performed with Juno-winning, exquisitely talented guitarist Tony Quarrington accompanying him.

However, “it took 13 years for him to ask me to sit in on his original material,” Brian tells us —but Wednesday night at Moonshine Café that’s exactly what he’ll be doing.

Although Quarrington (who’s also part of Gladstone’s Folk supergroup, The Guitar Boys Of Alderon) is considered a superior 6-stringer to most, Gladstone’s fingerpicking prowess has its own share of accolades from critics across the world.

The pair perform tomorrow as part of a monthly Songwriters Night showcase in the funky room at 137 Kerr St. in downtown Oakville. There’s usually a small cover charge but it’s well worth it, since the room is designed with superb acoustics and the vibe is also very listening-friendly.
