Back in the studio tomorrow with Margaret Stowe and Tony Quarrington hopefully lay down 5 guitar tracks for some of my new songs. I tend to write above my ability to play, so they take me forever to learn and I practice insessently. Sometimes I will work on a tune for over a year to get it clean and up to speed. As primarily a ‘finger-style’ guitar player I do things in reverse order from most artists. I like to do the guitar first, and use that as the bed tracks. Then all the other tracks to follow have to work around that.
