It was 14 years ago this week that we recorded the final tracks on my ‘Psychedelic Pholk Psongs’ album. Then of course comes the mixing, mastering, artwork, production, packaging, pre-promotion, media requests, etc., and we had it ready for release by late August 2001. On September 9th, 2001, about 990 copies of ‘Psychedelic Pholk Psongs’ were sent out to radio, print media, music journalists, etc. Two days later came the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center, and everything changed. Only a handful of CD’s ever got delivered to the intended recipient. A few made it overseas to Britain and into Europe, but none that I am aware of reached their destination on this side of the Atlantic. The rest just vanished and disappeared forever. Ultimately the album was re released several months later with more positive results!
